Silver Run Falls, Nantahala National Forest

Silver Run Falls is a very family-friendly side-of-the-road attraction in the Nantahala National Forest south of Cashiers. A short, crushed-gravel trail of less than a tenth of a mile leads to the waterfall.

The 30-foot-tall falls has a large plunge pool, which invites swimmers.

At several spots, a line of rocks will help you get across the stream.

Silver Run Falls is on N.C. 107 south of Cashiers in southeast Jackson County. Look for the sign on the left-hand side of the road heading south. There was a small area at the sign for parking and another small space on the other side of the road just a few car lengths farther south.
