Camping at TVA Reservoirs in North Carolina

While the Tennessee Valley Authority has campgrounds at several of its reservoirs, only one is in North Carolina:

Apalachia Reservoir, west of Murphy.
(Locator Map)
Gee Creek Campground offers primitive camping, boat ramp, fishing pier, hiking trail, picnic tables, play court and a visitors center. Phone (423) 263-0050.

Camping, hunting, hiking and bird watching are also allowed on undeveloped land surrounding certain TVA reservoirs, including at Chatuge and Hiawassee in North Carolina. See this interactive map for information. See also our Camping in National Forests page for additional camping opportunities on TVA reservoirs in western North Carolina.
