While the Tennessee Valley Authority has campgrounds at several of its reservoirs, none are in North Carolina.

The campground at Apalachia Reservoir, west of Murphy has been closed, but primitive camping is allowed on Nantahala National Forest land, which surrounds TVA reservoirs in North Carolina.
